An evening of improvised music with Stuart Ironside.
Inspired by his recent work in West African and experimental music, Stuart will perform a continuous and completely improvised set.
Following on from performances at Chichester Fringe in 2021 and 2022, Stuart Ironside returns with an evening of meditative and contemplative listening.
Doors/bar open: 7pm
Show Starts: 7.30pm
Running Time: 2 hours (including interval)
Inspired by his recent work in West African and experimental music, Stuart will perform a continuous and completely improvised set and invite the audience along for the journey.
About Stuart:
Stuart began his studies at Cardiff University, majoring in classical guitar performance while also studying Javanese Gamelan, West African guitar and Folk music. These experiences led Stuart to explore music outside of the Western Canon, and find ways to play them on the classical guitar. In 2021 Stuart began a Masters degree in performance at SOAS, specialising in West African music, to dive further into this mix of musics.
Stuart has been sharing his arrangements and compositions with audiences for the last three years to an incredibly positive reception. He has been mentored by some of the most innovative classical guitarists in the world today, along with expert Gamelan, kora and Folk players.
Stuart’s debut album ‘The Wallace Line’ was released August 26th 2022.
